Hello,

We are just upgrading from Solaris 10 to Solaris 11 and the
/usr/bin/smbclient tool seems to be missing from our Solaris 11 install.

Is there an easy way to get it back again? We use it in lots of
scripts to put and fetch files to and from our Windows boxes.

I've tried copying the binary from a Solaris 10 server but we have some
dynamic libraries missing and it won't run.

Cheers.

smbclient is part of the samba- package:

root@sol11:~# pkg search -l /usr/bin/smbclient
INDEX ACTION VALUE PACKAGE
path file usr/bin/smbclient pkg:/service/network/sa...@3.6.23-0.175.2.0.0.42.1

Use "pkg search":

% pkg search smbclient
INDEX ACTION VALUE PACKAGE
basename file usr/bin/smbclient pkg:/service/network/sa...@3.6.24-0.175.2.2.0.3.0

and then install it using:

# pkg install service/network/samba

In Solaris 11, we no longer install all or most packages; there is not
not even a way to all packages.
