Hi
from the ok-prompt:
ok boot -s cdrom
then: mount the /
create/modify now the:
- /etc/shadow
- /etc/password
- /etc/group
Regards,
- Jochem
Example root:WxzL460hohWsU:10724::::::
remove the WxzL460hohWsU
Make sure you still have all 8 colons.
reboot.
This will leave you with NO root password. Change it as soon as it comes
up.

vi??? booo! Too much overhead.. and you have to set that namby pamby
TERM var. :-)
PLUS, have a working /var/tmp
Shorten the above to either:
# mount /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s0 /mnt (or what ever you root slice is)
# sed 's/:WxzL460hohWsU:/::/' /mnt/etc/shadow >s
# mv s /mnt/etc/shadow
or if you prefer
# mount /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s0 /mnt (or what ever you root slice is)
# ed /mnt/etc/shadow
1s/root:[^:]*:/root::/
wq

You have to hit Stop-A during the boot process (early on is best)
to get the "ok" prompt.

After this, I have no chance to mount anything.
Ctrl-D to normal mode ( or
Enter root password to maintain )

it helps to post error messages.
Is this the best way to get the time in usecs? I'm only interested in the
difference from some point back in time, I dont need the current time.
Thanks.
