Under what conditions will the following error occur.
I was trying to display something remotely. Does this
have something to do with 'xhost'?

Thanks,

Probably. Try doing an "xhost +" on your workstation and then
logging onto the remote machine and attempting to display the
application back. Remember; You have to do the "xhost +" on the
workstation you're trying to display to, not on the remote machine.
If it works, then try closing down the access to just the machine
you want to display back from (i.e., do an "xhost -" and then "xhost
+ remotehost"). Also remember that your DISPLAY environment
variable has to be set to "myhost:0.0" and not just "myhost".
Sometimes people forget the ":0.0" (Sometimes they forget to set it
at all and that also could be your problem).

Hope this helps,
Don
