XDMCP on Solaris 9

I'm having difficulties logging in to a Solaris 9 box from
Cygwin/XFree86 and I can't seem to figure out what the problem is. I
get a black window and a stationary hourglass as described in the
Cygwin/XFree86 FAQ: http://xfree86.cygwin.com/docs/faq/cygwin-xfree-faq.html#q-solaris-fonts
(I've tried with Windows set to both 16-bit and 32-bit color). The
Cygwin/XFree86 window then goes to (Not Responding) for a long, long
while (10 minutes or so) before finally giving me a login screen.
I've checked to make sure a font server is running on the Solaris box:

I should include here that I got it to work flawlessly once with the
exact same setup, which is very strange. When using eXcursion v3.0 I
get 3 errors about font paths and a series of strange sounds coming
from the client machine's speaker (not sound card).
One possible culprit is that the Solaris machine's hostname isn't
registered with DNS. I've included the pkginfo listing below, in case
that's of use. Any help would be appreciated, of course.

Yes, sorry I should have included the command I was using. It works,
but it's just excessively slow to start up.

I'm having the exact same problem with the latest cygwin w/ Solaris
2.7. It takes anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour for a login window
to appear. My error logs match his exactly. Yet I have no problems
connecting to Irix. I've read the faq and specify the font path as
above.

boot time? Can it look up the clients IP address in it's naming
service (whatever you're using)? If the Sun can't get it's name or
resolve the client, it will wait a very long time trying.
