Note that this error happens even if i try to install Solaris 9 9/04
Anyone has any ideas of what could be the issue here?
Thanks alot.

Andy, why don't you try booting with simply boot cdrom? Instead of
boot cdrom - install. Hope that helps, other than that as per Sun,
Attempting to install Solaris fails with the message "cannot open
kernel/sparcv9/unix". The install can be from the local CDROM drive
or a JumpStart/network install.
The most common cause of this error is that the Solaris version is not
supported on the machine.
