Howdy,
Am sorry if this has been asked before but could somebody tell
me what should be the permissions on /etc/nsswitch.conf file.

0644, owner root group sys.

In general, if you want to know what the permissions and ownership for any
Solaris file should be, grep for that file in /var/sadm/install/contents.
For example:

% grep /etc/nsswitch.conf /var/sadm/install/contents
/etc/nsswitch.conf e nsswitch 0644 root sys 779 884 825524891 SUNWcsr

644 or 444 (rw-r--r-- or r--r--r--)
