Dear all,
we are trying to install a Solaris10 Branded Zone on a Solaris 11
Express system
getting this message:
***The image patch level is downrev for running in a solaris10 branded
zone***
The Sparc Solaris 10 system is running Release 11/06 and Patch
119254-70 is installed.
Does the message above mean that at least Solaris 10 10/09 has to be
installed on the
original Solaris 10 system before one should build the image using
'flarcreate'?
Thanks for any help!
Rainer

The original requirement when Solaris 10 Branded Zones were added to
OpenSolaris was for update 8 or later.

The current documentation is hidden here

http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E19963-01/html/821-1460/gjfbq.html

on oracle's horrible documentation site.

...which states:

"Oracle Solaris 10 Containers are solaris10branded zones that host x86
and SPARC Solaris 10 10/09 (or later released Oracle Solaris 10
update) user environments running on the Oracle Solaris 11 Express
kernel. Note that it is possible to use an earlier update release if
you first install the kernel patch 141444-09 (SPARC) or 141445-09 (x86/
x64), or later version, on the original system."

Me personally, I'd liveupgrade to 10/09 and then take the flar.
