IDPROM checksum, what is it?

I get the message "The IDPROM checksum is incorrect" when I try to boot
my machine, what does this mean?

The clock battey went bad, you have to replace the IDprom/Clock chip.

Read the Sun ID-prom FAQ to learn how to do this.
