I'm currently running 2 HP DAT 35480A drives under SunOS 4.1.3.
I will be installing Solaris 2.2 in about 10 days and am interested
in how others have installed these DAT drives under Solaris 2.1 or
2.2.

Thanks!

Simple. I just hooked it up, and ran the following commands (as root):
loki# drvconfig
loki# tapes

These found the drive (which was at scsi id 5), and set up the device
and tape files. /dev/rmt/0 and /dev/rmt/0n are the devices I use to
access the tape using mt, tar and ufsdump/ufsrestore (the Sol2.2
versions of dump/restore)...

This works (was tested) on both Solaris 2.1 and Solaris 2.2.
