Hello everyone
i have a sunfire 450 sparc and recently one of the cpu fan broke
so the OS dont boot.
When is booting i have the next messages

fan fail 0xdf, retries 3
cpu fan failed
fan fail, system shutdown

i try to disable OBP system but it only works once.

after that the error appears and reboot all the time

how can i do to make it boot ignoring the error messages ?

WTF does that mean??
Have a look at nvramrc and diag-scripts in the OBP..

Yes you did. Any other details left out...?
Assuming not you have to determine why you are getting the message : /
Is the 2nd fan defective as well or is it something elese triggering
the
error.

the first time appear the error (after change the FAN) in stop-a i
setenv env-monitor disabled
coz the message where this
WARNING:CPU Fan Number 2 Failed
Warning:Fan Failure(s), System shutdown

after use it sometime i reboot it and the error was this
WARNING:CPU Fan is 0xdf, retries = 3;
WARNING:CPU Fan Number 2 Failed
Warning:Fan Failure(s), System shutdown

After that the server never boot again
so i dunno that is the trigger exactly, that why i come here :P
and it works the server boot normally

No you also "came to" the hardware newgroup because you multi-posted.
Keep that up and most people will ignore you eventually : <

So we have to guess what you did..
I vote for: you did not use an original replacement part.
Its been tried already by someone last year and they got the same
error.
Sunsolve probably has all the part numbers on line.

Sorry! I think Sun went to all the trouble and expense of putting a fan
in the box because it was needed to keep the machine from destroying
itself. You might get away with it in a REALLY cold data center but I
wouldn't count on it!

A replacement fan can't be all that expensive or difficult to install!!
