I installed nfs maestro 7 eval on my NT workstation and I tried to
connect to my 220R. I have done it many times on HP-UX 11 and it has an
etc/exports file. Solaris seems to be different. I have got all the
entries in and when I search to network the server appears in the list
and expanding the list gives me the shared directory (for now my home
directory) When I try to connect I get the error : network timeout or
HCLNFSD/PCNFSD not running on Host. I went ahead and stopped and
started the nfsd deamon but that did not fix anything. I am not going to
reboot the Unix box unless I have to, but I did not think I have to
reboot. Anyone has any experience with this software?
Thanks for all help

You need either the hclnfsd [Hummingbird NFSD] or some version
of pcnfsd running on your Sun system OR you can set up
Maestro to use NIS and any server already running the pcnfsd
to do your authentication for you.
The sun nfsd isn't pcnfsd. Sun doesn't sell their PC-NFS
product any more. If your server is Solaris 2.6 and you
have the Server CD set, there is a SUNWpnfd package on
the Intranet Extensions [optional CD]. Or you could
dig around for a public domain version. Or compile the
Hummingbird hclnfsd. Odd that Hummingbird doesn't offer
precompiled versions for common O/S's, or at least they
didn't last time I checked.
