Metrics on virtualized servers

Any thoughts on how to collect metrics on a virtualized server. I am
referring to metrics like vmstat, mpstat, iostat, prstat etc. But how
can it be targeted towards one specific virtual server (LDOM) or how
to even get hypervisor / xen host metrics.
Any readily available COTS products or if we were to use a command
line utilties to build a suite how to go about it.
Any pointers would be helpful.
