I have previously used UOD376c to install an Exabyle Eagle on SCO Unix
3.2v4.2. That worked great. Is there a corresponding patch I need to load
on Xenix that will allow me to use the Eagle? Doesn't look like I should
load UOD376c on Xenix.

Thanks in advance,
Chuck

Xenix has version numbers too. If you're using Xenix 2.3.4, there's a
supplement, xnx316, that improves the picture slightly. That is the
state of the art for Xenix SCSI tape drive support. It supports one
SCSI tape drive per system, on an Adaptec 154x series ISA SCSI host
adapter.

The combination has been tested with various ancient QIC drives (up
to 1GB). As far as I know, SCO never tested Xenix SCSI tape support
with any other tape technology. The drive you're asking about _might_
work, but I wouldn't count on it. If it has dipswitches or replacement
firmware that make it act like a really old SCSI drive, that would
improve your chances.

Other readers may have actual field experience with Xenix + SCSI tapes
other than QIC models...
