hi all,
just upgraded from os5.0.4 to os5.0.5 with rs505a. the upgrade went very
smooth with the exception that now scologin does not start on tty02. when i
reboot and go to multiuser mode, i get the following message on tty02:

Scologin is starting (/dev/tty02) Please wait ......

after a few seconds, the screen goes blank. i can then ctl-alt-f1 and return
to the login screen on tty01 and login. i checked the sco ta's and also
dejanews for this problem, but didn't find anything.
any help greatly appreciated.
TIA

I've never upgraded or had this problem, but it sounds like a video
driver issue
Can you login normally and run "startx", that would tell you if it's
a video problem....

Hope this helps

Hi !

First make sure your mouse is correctly recognized; switch to a
non-graphical login (eg, CTRL-ALT-F1), log on as root and issue
the 'mkdev mouse' command and hit "1) Display current configuration".
The depicted output should reflect the hardware you're using.

You could also use the "usemouse" command; when you issue the
command, try to move the mouse; if everything is correctly
configured, you should see the video cursor that moves accordingly
with your mouse inputs.

Also, double check your video configuration; "mkdev graphics" issued
as root should walk you 'trhu the required steps to check your config
(try IBM VGA or VESA modes).

Hope this helps !

Best,
Roberto
