Now, according to official documentation (http://www.vmware.com/pdf/
GuestOS_guide.pdf) OpenServer 5.0.6 and 5.0.7 MP5 and UnixWare 7.1.1
MP5 and 7.1.1 MP4 are supported on ESX/ESXi 4 hosts. However, VMware
Tools are not available for those OSes. For virtualization of
UnixWare, Intel Nehalem or AMD Barcelona CPUs are recommended for
performance issues.

The list of supported guest operating systems was further extended
with ESX 4 and is quite impressive IMHO.

*Excellent*. I did ask them for precisely such support last year, and
never heard back and am no longer on that contract. I'll notify my old
colleagues, though.

I'd have used Xen, but the hardware simulation with that wasn't good
enough, at the time, to install SCO OpenServer 5.0.6.

No mention of OSR6 in that list of guest OSes.... Has onyone in here
run OSR6 under VMWare in any serious applications?

Great
I am testing OpenServer 507 on esx4. All works fine except attaching
a DAT USB. Has anybody successfully realized such an assembly?

USB pass through is not an option on ESX, at least not in 3.5 and
earlier. Look at USB over Ethernet devices.

Thanks for answer
What do you mean by USB over ethernet, is it a feature of ESX?.

I add an USB DATon a Windows 2000 guest on ESX4 and it works fine, I
thought that OSR 507 would also do it.

Any help is welcome
