It's been a while but the last time I saw an alignment fault it was a
hw raid
controller (non IBM HW). The part that worries me is removing the
supplement
didn't remove the panic, just rebooting with a much older kernel.
good luck, it doesn't sound like a simple fix.

I had this with a system with a digi and the sco
article helped. Digi also said it made a difference
if you put the digi mpi software on before or after the
y2k patch for the system. They recommended we install
the y2k patch first and then the digi software.

Thanks for the pointer. There are two main ISA cards, a
Computone Serial
port card and an Alliance CoAx for an AS/400 to UNIX
communications card. Both worked/work like champs before
the install. Any thoughts on removing the hardware drivers
and adding them back after oss497c install?
