Hello everyone,

Excuse me for asking a kind of frequently asked questions, I searched
the archive for the subject, but it's still not clear...

Is there a freeware terminal emulator for Win95/NT, with good SCO ANSI
emulation AND line-drawing characters support? For example, Tera Term
draws lines perfectly, but doesn't support SCO ANSI.

Thanks for your help,

Dmitri

I'm not aware of a good free one, but there's a good cheap
($25) emulator: see
http://aplawrence.com/Reviews/alphacom3.html that includes
an LPD client..

I have been using Netterm for 2 years now. It's supports a perfect
SCO-ANSI. Netterm can do telnet or dialup communications. It's also
has a handy rolodex like feature if you need access to many servers.

It's also got a unique feature where you can output escape sequences
in your Unix programs/shells scripts to launch Windows applications on
your PC.

Whenever anybody asks such a question, lots of people recommend their
favorite emulator, so let's not leave out Kermit 95:

http://www.columbia.edu/kermit/k95.html

It's not free, but it's cheap and it includes SCO ANSI emulation WITH line
drawing AND color AND international character-set translation AND a built-in
(but customizable) keymap for all 178 SCOANSI defined keys and combinations.
Plus about 35 other emulations, Kermit and XYZMODEM file transfer, various
forms of security, serial communications and Rlogin as well as Telnet, numeric
and alpha paging, full scripting, and companion programs (file-transfer and
client/server partners) available for all SCO operating systems and hundreds
of others besides.

OpenServer Release 5.0.4 and beyond include SCO TermLite in the distribution.
