There is an ftp site on the DEC Corp that includes very useful information about the new Alpha (21064 processor) launched by DEC. There are some machines based on this architecture bye DEC.
WHAT IS MORE IMPORTANT TO YOU, IS THAT THEY INCLUDE SOME POSTSCRIPT FILES THAT INCLUDE SPEED COMPARISON AMONG SEVERAL WORKSTATIONS INCLUDING HP AND IBM MACHINES
Try: ftp gatekeeper.doc.com
then use 'anonymous' as your login name
and maybe your real login name as a password.
The information is under: pub/DEC/DECinfo/performance-summary
Since this is a big directory; the file "index"; shows you the index of the contents and the size of the ascii file or the postscript one.
The details of the specific machines they compare and the benchmark problems they use for comparison you have to find it yourself (at your own risk).
Hope that was useful
