I'm looking for some automated plotting software that takes
data from a text file and generates graphs.

Is there another more appropriate group that I can post this
question to?

Get a copy of gnuplot, available at many ftp sites around the world.
Including ours, ftp.celestial.com

Hi

Why don't you try the gnuplot program... It runs under X11
It's GNU and is works pretty well IMHO...

If you want to program a bit try "gd" ... it can output gif's (not freely
available though)
(I think this is a bit advanced though, for an "automated" solution)...

Side note. Gnuplot is not GNU software (at least time I checked). The
gnu in gnuplot is a coincidence and gnuplot has its own copyright
statement.
