wanted: Unix lpr filter for Xerox Document Centre 420

We are running Digital Unix 4.0D and want to use a Xerox Document Centre
420 ST as a network Postscript printer. I find that the "if" and "of"
filter program (/usr/lbin/ps_level2of) for lpr spooling that was provided
with the O/S is not "exactly" compatible with the Document Centre. To be
specific, jobs spooled under lpd through this filter print ok but then do
not clear themselves from the copier's print queue; no other operations on
the copier are possible until the jobs are "deleted". You can "delete"
them from the front panel but then their status is "deleting" and they
continue to hang around until power is cycled. (BTW, PC print jobs behave
fine, this really is an lpd filter program problem.)
