Installed Hylafax from the BSD 3.0 CD. Setup tty00 to be off and ttyA00 to
go to "/usr/contrib/lib/hylafax/faxgetty" dialup on.

We have the modem hooked up to com port 1. Run FaxSetup. It configures
everything, but faxaddmodem doesn't recognize any modem whatsoever on the
ttyA00 device.

OK, so I delete the above line, and turn tty00 on with com Generic144 on.
I then run faxaddmodem and it sees the modem, configures itself, et al.

I can now fax from my Macintosh using MacFlex which is a Hylafax driver
for the Mac. faxstat says that faxq is running. However at this point, no
faxing actually occurs. I cannot "cu' to tty00, nor do any of the HylaFax
commands recognize tty00 as a configured device EXCEPT "faxaddmodem".

We have tried this here for a month...with no success. This is just one
modem. Pentium Pro 200 BSDI3.0 system.

One last problem, we have trashed the tty00 file in the /dev directory by
accident and honestly don't know how to get it back. This just happened
after a sysadmin was trying to list it and removed it instead...too quick
thinking.

Please help as this is dragging on too long. Email is best, but I do read
the newsgroups.

Please forward this to any people or newgroups that you think might be
able to help.
