Hi,

I am a newbie in solaris. I have a S3 vision 968 chip video card. I have
been trying to get my new (8/99) edition of solaris to work with it. But it
doesn't. The KDMConfig program doesnt' have it listed as an option. I have
the default window manager that came with solaris. Does anybody know if I
can change to a new window manager that does work with this video card. If
so can anybody point to instructions on how to change to a new window
manager?

Thanks.

If the card is supported by XFree86 then all you need to do is get the
xfree86 distribution for solaris and install it. You can then run their
XServer. Just change your X to point to the appropriate Xserver.

Since I know very little about solaris commands, where can I find
instructions on doing this? Thanks.
