I've never seen an EL92 or EL94 for sale anywhere (at least, not in the
UK/available to UK). EL98 and J9xx are "common". I've seen talk (and parts
on eBay) of SV1 systems. These are all air cooled so you stand a chance of
running one, assuming that's what you want to do.
If you just want to play, take a look at cray-cyber.org

I think the EL we have on display at CHM is a 94. I never used it. My friend
Alex was the one who donated it (it was in our vault) (Maxwell).
We need to develop an EL and J site list. I think we had 20 J CPUs.
That was after I left the HPS group. I am not certain what we did with
the J90s.
It's hit or miss on Ebay.....been looking for quite some time. But I'll keep
on and hopefully someone will reply to this forum or an unit will show up on
Ebay.
Another person you can try is Tony Cole.
While he sells old Crays and Cray boards, he might be able to keep his
ear out for ELs.
I have not seen Tony in quite a while. Doing a "'tony cole' cray" quick
google search, I was not able to find his web site. But it should be
out there or at least an email.
What would be a fair price for an EL92 series unk??

I have no idea.
I'm not even certain how many were made, nor what the cheaper ELs were
sold for new.
The last I heard Cray 1 chassies were about $50K (that is when Nathan
came around to look at one Tony was going to sell him for Nathan's
living room, where the Babbage difference engine #2 is going, now December).
It is not like that there is a market for furniture which looks like a
Cray-1 (so long as it's cheaper than one of the 80s or so real ones ever
made accounting not withstanding since numbers got reused).
Enigma machines depending on condition were supposed to be about that amount.
And both, I think are still export controlled. Well I know Enigmas are.
eBay might have records, but I've not checked. That might be your first
option. 2nd would be what's the melt down value? That's very similar
to one of our old Cray user's view of the horse she owns: she aware of
the cost of horse meat in France (she owns two horses).
No idea on EL92/4 but my EL98 cost about UKP200 (~USD400). That was a
complete working single chassis system from a dealer who'd cleared out a Sun
sales office and didn't really know what it was! Recently donated to
Bletchely Park
