Is CDE on Linux dead? I want to purchase a CDE installation for Linux
(any distribution actually) and I can't find anything. Once upon a
time xig sold DeXtop CDE for Linux but I understand that this is no
longer available.

Anybody know where I can get CDE for Linux?

Unfortunately, it is.
Xi Graphics' DeXtop is no longer available.

AFAIK, DeXtop per se is not a fully featured CDE since there've been a
lot of problems porting it to Linux and GCC, the latter being
incapable to compile some portions of code w/o crash. For example, it
lacked DtKsh.

If you love CDE that much, you might want to try to switch to Solaris/
x86 (any version between 8 and 10).
