Having finally made the switch from OpenWindows, it has taken time to
figure out how to get things looking the same. But one thing, simple
as it sounds, seems impossible to achieve -- I cannot get the right
font for the terminal windows, except in one way. I get what I
want if I pull down the "Options" menu, go to "Font" and then
select "9.5". It is just the way I want it.

How can get this to be the default? I have fooled around
with resources for Dtterm in my .Xdefaults using stuff like

Dtterm*userFont: 5x10

and also setting the fool font defintion. Neither gives the
desired effect.

Any ideas? Or, at least, how can on get the properties of the
font corresponding to "9.5"?!!

Here ya go.

dtterm -fn "-dt-interface user-medium-r-normal-xs*-*-*-*-*-m-*"

Hmm, that's a nice little font. Small enough to save real estate but not
too tiny (on a 1280x1024 res).
Anyway, the menu choices are found in
/usr/dt/app-defaults/C/Dtterm

Thanks. Sorry for the delay, but got to try it out only today as I
do not like to quit sessions. Worked like a charm with the the
menu choices. Found that 9.5 point corresponded to, (guess ?)
"xs"!!. Put it in my .Xdefaults and everything is perfect.

Thanks for the precise answer -- I needed to know where the
values in the pull down menus in dtterm were coming from.
Your pointer was dead on.

No problem on the delay as I haven't been online since I posted (been
fighting with a laptop).
Anyway, this is one of those if you hadn't asked I wouldn't have thought
about it myself things. Now my dtterm isn't taking up so much screen
space.

You're welcome, and thanks. :-)
