'After seeing Conky in action I was mighty impressed, its really handy
to be able to monitor several system settings in realtime by stacking
widgets on your desktop. Maybe a widget for CPU temperature, another
showing disk usage. While Conky bills itself as a 'light-weight system
monitor for X', that's where I tend to disagree as it requires at least
eight additional 3rd party dependencies. Meh, I dunno, what I'd prefer
is something even more minimal, so I rolled up my sleeves & got to work...'
