Having managed to get Arpsnmp to parse an arp file from our router, I
find that once it has completed around 600 entries, at around 5 or 6 a
second, it drops to a crawl, doing one entry every 34 seconds:

Aug 12 23:08:52 vimes arpsnmp: new station 10.4.32.60 0:50:ba:f0:e3:76
Aug 12 23:09:26 vimes arpsnmp: new station 10.4.32.61 0:50:ba:bb:9f:2f
Aug 12 23:10:00 vimes arpsnmp: new station 10.4.32.62 0:50:ba:f0:ce:b7
Aug 12 23:10:34 vimes arpsnmp: new station 10.4.32.63 0:50:ba:6e:a5:98
Aug 12 23:11:08 vimes arpsnmp: new station 10.4.32.64 0:50:ba:f0:de:84

Is this a 'feature' of Arpsnmp, syslog, or some other system process ?

The system is "FreeBSD 5.2.1-RELEASE #0: Mon Feb 23 20:45:55 GMT 2004"
