I have an ASUS P4P800 which has onboard LAN and sound. I am trying to get
both working, but cannot. The NIC is a 3COM 3c940 (gigabit LAN) and is
supposed to work with the sk module, however, it does not. I have also heard
the sk98lin module works for this (yk), but it too does not.
I have this working in Linux and it works with the 3COM 3c2000 driver. Is
it possible to use the same module in FreeBSD 5.1-RELEASE?

How about the SoundMAX sound on-board? Alsa?

It does on my P4P800. Using sk(4):

skc0: <3Com 3C940 Gigabit Ethernet> port 0xd400-0xd4ff mem
0xfeaf8000-0xfeafbfff irq 10 at device 5.0 on pci2
skc0: 3Com Gigabit LOM (3C940)
sk0: <Marvell Semiconductor, Inc. Yukon> on skc0
sk0: Ethernet address: 00:0c:6e:4f:77:0c
miibus0: <MII bus> on sk0
e1000phy0: <Marvell Semiconductor 88E1000* gigabit PHY> on miibus0
e1000phy0: 1000baseTX-FDX, 100baseTX-FDX, 100baseTX, 10baseTX-FDX,
10baseT
