Unfortunaly this version is not working with 4-STABLE - if anyone would be
kind enough to help me out with this I would deeply appreciate it.

...hmmm, curios. i've the op's problem on 4.7 stable. what have you done
to make it work?

I'm using 4-STABLE (newest stable code in the 4. tree) so that would put me
between 4.7 and 4.8 :)
I see now that I was wrong - I'm using 4.7-STABLE - RELENG_4.
Sorry - but the NIC still doesn't work :)

it does not work in freebsd 5.0 current since an update in january 17th
2003 on an jvc MP-XP7210 with the same message.
some changes in the drivers seemed to be made at about that date,
because it worked like a charm before :(
