I built a 12.1 system yesterday -- multiple times, from three different ISOs,
and got this all three times. Єach time was with a ZFS boot disk, and
absolutely as vanilla as I could make it. Here's what isn't working:

The same thing happens with the 12.2 ISOs. Any ideas? Do I need to clean the
target drive off between builds in case something is persisting from a
previous build?

I'm somewhat suspicions of this part... On my FreeBSD-11.4 system clang
is 10.0.1. And the same is true for a 12.2 system.

I don't have the 12.1 any more, but 12.2 certainly ought to be using
clang 10.0.x

It seems like you're mixing versions between kernel and modules -- as
the error-messages suggest.

Where did you obtain the ISOs?
