Has anyone ever tried A/UX version 1.x or 2.x before? If so what hardware
and how useful was it? Seems like everybody only has 3.x.

The AUX Penelope site has some good information about v. 1 and v. 2 of
A/UX, including screenshots and information on the installation
procedures.

Can't say I've even been that interested. 3.x is supported by the most Mac
models, and it's "the best", with the latest fixes we're going to get.
