ps -l
gives output similar to:
F S UID PID PPID C PRI NI ADDR SZ WCHAN TTY TIME
CMD
200001 A 200 12838 27718 0 60 20 25a5 80 2734e4 pts/10 0:00
tcpserv01

what is the meaning of 2734e4 under the WCHAN field and where is it
defined.
Surprisingly, I could not find this in the aix man page, info, nor the
faq.

According to my copy of info-explorer WCHAN is the event on which the
process is waiting (an address in the system). A symbol is chosen that
classifies the address, unless numerical output is requested.

Hope this helps!

Thanks,
I take it the 2734e4 is an address inside the kernel, and with the
bsd ps invocation: ps l (not ps -l), I would get EVENT in place of
the number.
How do I obtain more information from the number, since for me now
the number may as well be 1 or 0.
Jeff
