However, I have the following issues if a video card (gxt300) and PS/2
style keyboard are installed:
A) No video ( gxt300 graphics card ) on the monitor
B) Serial port message states "select 0 for a system console". When I do
nothing happens, the 7029-6c3 pseries 615 system appears to hang and AIX
never boots.
How can I enable the gxt300 video card and standard keyboard on the
7029-6c3 pseries 615? I use the serial port/SMS combination because
nothing appears on my monitor and the standard PS/2 keyboard appears
dead as well.
Must I toggle something within HCM or SMS to enable the video card and
keyboard as a default? Must I install the gxt300 into a special PCI-X
slot number?
PS - Yes, I installed all the standard AIX 6.1 drivers so I don't
understand why this isn't working. One would think the serial port
connection would continue showing messages and AIX would continue to
boot even if the keyboard and video cards don't work.
Thank You,

Well, fishsticks. It would seem that the 6C3 is not recognizing the
GXT300 as a valid adapter. As a double-check, boot using your serial
console, run smitty and see if you have an lft device defined. If you
don't, that pretty much settles that and I'll refund your payment for
the GXT300 adapter.

Is there a LED code displayed when it appears to hang?
