This has been talked about before but the threads I found ended in
failure.

If anyone can do "man 3 open" from the command line on a 5.3 system and
it works, I would like to know how you got that to work.

I have all the infocenter.aix.EN_US filesets installed. I can do "man
man" and it works. But I do not have any libraries.

I'm going to call it quits for tonight and start again tomorrow but was
hoping someone might chime in on the magic necessary to get this to
work.

Thank you,
Perry

I don't think this has gotten reported through regular channels, but
you need to add links in

/usr/share/man/info/EN_US/a_doc_lib/

to additional directories in

/opt/ibm_help/eclipse/plugins/com.ibm.aix.doc_5.3.0/

When I add a link for "libs", man open works just fine.

It would be nice if someone officially complained about this.

Thanks Gary.

That worked for me.

I tried using -M before creating the symbolic links and could not get
it to work.

Correct. That's broken, too.

More breakage: "man fp_opendev" works. "man fp_close" does not. But
"man fp_close_Kernel" does. (With the capital K.)

If you do a find in /opt/ibm_help and get a list of flat files, then
you can grep that list for what you are looking for and maybe figure
out what magical thing to type to man to get the man page that you are
looking for.

The adventure continues...
