C 2975: 10/100/1000 TP PCI for RS/6000

PN: 00P1690

Went to install, complained I’m missing

devices.pci.ae120100.

Anyone know what this is?

I’m rolling in the deep, AIX 5.1 ML9

its a nonstandard configuration, but diagnostics tested the adapter with the diag files and the status lights are all lit, an indication that the adapter hasn’t yet been configured.

The device does report in a lsdev request.

The machine is a 7043-140, 233MHz 604e. ISA & 32 bit PCI Slots. The adapter is a 32/64 but adapter. I’ve got a GXT6500P going without any problems, so if it’s a hardware issue, it’s something not obvious to me.

I’ve read online of others installing this on a diffferent machine, an F80 maybe? Both with 5.1 and 4.3.3.

What’s up with this guy? What do I need to get it going.

devices.pci.ae120100

And why the hell do they use the exact stupid example in the red book but not tell me wtf it is ?!

Hey IBM, I’m in Hempstead, let’s have lunch.
