Well, even a basic telnet should support the VT100 keyboard, but it may
put the keys on other keys than the PC F1-F4. You may wish to
experiment.

"Smart" applications like smit use the combination ESC 1 for F1, ESC 2
for F2 and so on. But it depends on the application. If the application
is hard coded for VT100, then you may have a problem.

A program using the terminfo type "vt100" is expecting the characters
ESC O P for PF1, ESC O Q for PF2, ESC O R for PF3, ESC O S for PF4, so
if you type those characters *real* quick that should achieve the same
effect.

I think "DO" is "ESC [ 2 9 ~".
