I downloaded and applied all the recommended filesets for a
4.3.3.0->4.3.3.04 update from the ibm site, without any problem, using
'smitty update_all' in the current directory. Why is the 'oslevel' still
producing the same output (4.3.3.0)?
Thanks,
-- Yannis
The installation of a maintanance level will not
change the oslevel. To look at the ML installed
use instfix (e.g. instfix -i | grep "4330")

oslevel does not show fix levels. To see fix levels try
lslpp.

What else do I possibly need (and where to find it)?
Thanks again...

The appropriate instfix command indicates I have everything put a few Java
filesets, which I don't want ( I'm at 1.1.6, 43304ML expects 1.1.8 ).
I do have an old 4.3.2.0 perfstat filestat that is required for an Oracle
product ( OWAS ), and I suspect that it is why oslevel shows the bad level.

I believe that you'll get this if not all 4.3.3 packages were updated to
4.3.3.04. lslpp -l should show if this is true.

Additionally...
You can find a information which fileset is not updated in
"/tmp/.oslevel.mlinfo.cache" or "filename with .oslevel* in /tmp dir"
# vi /tmp/.oslevel*
:
( installed fix status informations )
:
Use pattern search with ":-" in vi like this
/:-
I hope this is helpful....

hmm, no. i dont think you'll get anything except 4.3.3.0 - oslevel
won't report maintenancle levels. use: instfix -ik 4330-0X_AIX_ML
where X is the maintainence level:
woohah:/home/ksquire >oslevel
4.3.3.0
woohah:/home/ksquire >instfix -ik 4330-01_AIX_ML
