I want output of " powermt display dev=all " command on AIX because I
am not having powerpath installed on machine.
So I want output of above command with little explanation of devices to
understand.
So could anyone please help me
Anand
I would recommend going to:
Login to your account, or create one.
Then go to 'Support' menu.
Then go to 'Documentation Library' menu.
Then go to 'Software P-R' menu.
Then go to 'PowerPath' menu.
Then go to 'Installation/Configuration' menu.
Download the 'PowerPath for AIX Installation and Administration Guide'
document for your PowerPath version that you will install. It is between
1 to 1.4 MB for the document.
Read through, then you should get a better idea about PowerPath, device
naming schemes, and other things.
I do not have PowerPath for AIX yet because the software hasn't arrived,
but I do have PowerPath for Solaris. The output is a little different,
so I can't paste an example.

Not real sure what you are asking for, but here is powermt display
output for a single hdiskpower volume on AIX
powermt display dev=hdiskpower0
Pseudo name=hdiskpower0
CLARiiON ID=APM00034201512 [oracle]
Logical device ID=6006016081800E0015EA1FE386CCD911 [LUN 131]
state=alive; policy=CLAROpt; priority=0; queued-IOs=0
Owner: default=SP A, current=SP A

As you can see PowerPath groups hdisk devices into hdiskpower volumes.
Hdiskpower volumes are presented to AIX as PV's. You will deal with
hdiskpower volumes as admin, not hdisks. As you can see this happens to
be on a Clariion. Policy= determines whether you have a fully
fucntional vs basic failover license for PowerPath. As you can see
there are 8 2gig paths from the server to the array. (4 on each HBA)
You can define and zone less than eight if you wish. Not much to it,
however do your homework. Get the Install/Admin Guide and read it. Get
release notes and read carefully.
Put your exact configuration in the EMC support matrix and read the
output. Pay attention to the footnotes for required APARS and adapter
settings. Run EMC procedure generator and review carefully. If you are
booting off SAN (we don't), pay attention to any gotcha's related to
SAN booting. HTH

I created one accountt but there is no option called Support after
logging in
I am thanking you firstly for giving me powermt output
but could you tell me what is lsdev output for the same box
how the name of emc disk is shown in lsdev (hdiskpower1 or hdisk#)
>From the lsdev -Cc disk command
hdisks are shown as follows:
hdisk46 Available 09-08-01 EMC CLARiiON FCP RAID 1/0 Disk
hdisk47 Available 09-08-01 EMC CLARiiON FCP RAID 1/0 Disk
hdisk48 Available 09-08-01 EMC CLARiiON FCP RAID 1/0 Disk
hdisk49 Available 09-08-01 EMC CLARiiON FCP RAID 1/0 Disk
hdisk50 Available 09-08-01 EMC CLARiiON FCP RAID 1/0 Disk
hdisk51 Available 09-08-01 EMC CLARiiON FCP RAID 1/0 Disk
hdiskpower volumes are shown this way:
hdiskpower8 Available 09-08-01 PowerPath Device
