Hello,

I am experiencing a problem right now that is very frustrating. I'm
trying to create a new logical volume under a volume group (not rootvg)
under AIX 3251 and the following errors appear on the screen.

0516-022 lcreatelv - illegal parameter or structure value
0516-822 mklv - Unable to create logical volume.

I was experiencing these errors until I deleted a couple of logical
volumes under the volume group and then it let me create to other ones I
needed. There is a total of 24 LVs under the VG and I think this might
be the maximum? The issue that puzzles me is on another server, we have
30 LVs under rootvg. If anybody have any suggestions or comments,
please let me know.

Looks like there is some disagreement between ODM and LV kernel data.

synclvodm -v <vgname> should fix it. If not,
varyoffvg <vgname>, varyonvg <vgname> should help.

If the problem persists even after varyon/varyoff, try
varyoffvg <vgname>
exportvg <vgname>
importvg -y <vgname> <diskname>
