It takes a long time for the system to come up (~15min.) and another 15
min. or so to log in.
In the the file /var/adm/ras/nimlog I find the error message:
0042-011 nimclient: unable to access the /etc/niminfo file.
We're using AIX 4.1.5 on an AIX-Laptop computer.
What kind of service is nim ?
Is it possible to switch it off ?

The niminfo file is used by Network Installation Manager. If you want to do
any network installation procedures (i.e. install a makesysb over the
network, or install upgrade to os), you need this file to talk to the NIM
master. Check your /etc/inittab for a nimclient entry.
