All,

I am wanting to see if one or more of you can help me with the
following. When running a NIM mksysb on one of my RS6000's, there are
a number of files or filesystems that are not being found:

backup: 0511-449 An error occurred accessing viewname in
('DIM_QLT_BIC_IND',: A file or directory in the path name does not
exist.
backup: 0511-449 An error occurred accessing 'VDIM_BIC_IND',: A file or
directory in the path name does not exist.
backup: 0511-449 An error occurred accessing 'DIM_QLT_BIC_IND_R',: A
file or directory in the path name does not exist.
backup: 0511-449 An error occurred accessing 'VFCT_QLT_BIC_CROSSTAB',:
A file or directory in the path name does not exist.
backup: 0511-449 An error occurred accessing
'VFCT_QLT_BIC_CROSSTAB_SUM'): A file or directory in the path name does
not exist.

Do any of these names ring a bell to any of you and if so can you tell
me where they are located, these would be files in the rootvg.

I have tried running find from / on the server and it is unable to
locate any of these files. My problem is that everytime I run the NIM
script it gives me this same output. Is this information embedded in
some file. I have checked both the tapefiles1 and the image.data files
and the filenames are not in there.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Shawn

These look like files that have disappeared between mksysb's
initial scan of files to back up and the actual backup. This is
common with applications that create temporary files and delete
them shortly afterwards. So these files are not specific to AIX
but to an application you are running.
