I was wondering when useradd, usermod, and userdel were added to AIX
(about what version)?

What is the difference between the above commands and the commands
mkuser, chuser, and rmuser?

5.1 has them, 4.3 hasn't.

The user* are shell scripts which call the genuine *user binaries.

Ok. So I am guessing that the useradd script doesn't (can't) set all
the attributes that mkuser can. And the same goes for the usermod
script.

Is this correct?

Perhaps because of the 'L' (Linux compatibility) in AIX5L?

probably, that was the time when all those linuxisms
crept into AIX.

Yeah, I know how to use man. But if someone has already mapped out
the differences, then I don't have to spend the time. Don't want to
reinvent the wheel so to speak. :)
