now AIX sysadmin and have no clue how to install this rte ?! file, the
only thing i know is from file:

Hi,

- do a "cd" to the directory where you .rte file reside
- do a "inutoc ."
- do a "smitty install_latest" and put a "." into the field, which asks
you about the location of your software.
- Press F4 in the follow on screen of smit.
- Select with F7 your software in the follow on screen
- Press ENTER twice

Install should now begin

HTH,

.rte is smitty-installable. Put it in a seperate directory, run
"inutoc" (which generates a .toc file) and then install with smitty.

These are additional filesets needed by the JavaRTE which are not
included within the downloadable File. Most probably because you
already have them on your AIX 4.3.3 Media. Otherwise you should be
able to download them at IBM website.

Just mount the install-CD and install them with smitty. Or download
them and same procedure as with your java 1.3 rte-file.

Maintenance Level 10, Update of OS-Components which turned out to be
buggy/obsolete. aka "service Pack" under WinNT.

Marc,

You can get maintenance level 10 from the service website at
http://techsupport.services.ibm.com/server/support. Click on "Fixes" on
the left side of the page, then under "p series/ RS6000" click on AIX
4.3 OS, Java, Compilers, then on "Download maintenance packages". It
will be big, but you can order it on CD.

Ok I have now updated my AIX box to ML 10, tryed again to install
Java1.3.1 but now I get the following missing requisites:

MISSING REQUISITES: The following filesets are required by one or more
of the selected filesets listed above. They are not currently installed
and could not be found on the installation media.

X11.adt.lib 4.3.3.10 # Fileset Update

<< End of Failure Section >>

Any idea how I can fix that ?

Many thanks
