Greetings,

Has anyone successfully run an IP trace on an AIX V4.1.?
machine? If so, have you had to install any additional
software from the AIX CD-ROM?

I have run into the following problems with it:

- /usr/bin/iptrace is just a symbolic link to
/usr/sbin/iptrace which does NOT exist.

- when I get an iptrace executable from a similar
machine and try running it on the machine under
consideration here, I get the following error
message:

iptrace: 0827-861 Cannot load or configure trace kernel extension.

I can start up and use the trace utility just fine but,
I cannot get iptrace to work.

Any suggestions/pointers will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Make sure you have "bos.net.tcp.server" installed - the error is telling
you that more than just the "iptrace" binary is needed to run a trace.
