Folks,
On my AIX machines (RS/6000-530, AIX 4.1.1) I would like to
be able to start up my Xserver from an rlogin shell. However,
when I try it I get this message:
1362-011 The X Server can only be run from lft terminal.
Does anyone know how to get around this problem?
Thanks

If you're connecting from a PC then you need some kind of X emulation package
(which is going to cost you money), such as SCO XVision, Hummingbird ExCeed/W
or try the shareware MicroX (www.starnet.com).

What problem are you trying to solve? Do you really want to rlogin
to a machine and start an X _server_? Typically, you would rlogin to
a machine and start an X client that would display itself on another
X server that would usually be running on the machine your rlogin'd
from. (Note that this is not always what you would want to do, but
typically what you would want to do).
If you really want to start an X server while not on the lft (hft in
AIX < 3.2.x), then use the "-force" flag for the X command. Depending
on how you start the X server (ie startx, xinit, X, etc), the method
of specifying arguments to the X server will vary.
Note that this flag is not for the weak.
