Greetings:

I use rcp to backup an RS6000 system (AIX 3.2.5) but as of last night, it has
stopped working. As of today, when I try the following example, I get...

# rcp smit.script root@virgo:/smit.script
rshd: 0826-823 Cannot look up the address for your host.

a. Name resolution appears to be OK for both systems, i.e...

# host virgo [The target]
virgo.kent.edu is 131.123.16.111

# host phoenix [The sender]
phoenix.kent.edu is 131.123.76.253

b. I have checked the system I am copying to,(virgo) and it still has a correct
entry in its .rhosts file.

c. I have stopped/started portmap, and refreshed inetd on the system I am
doing the copying from (phoenix). It's had no affect.

I'm stumped...anyone out there have any hints, rtfm's, etc.
TIA

Leo
