Some of you might have seen my request before: I have over 20
Intel boxes running NeXTSTEP. From there, I can export some
directories to a NFS maintained by a HP in the same network. Since
each Intel has 2GB disk space, it posed a tough question to me: How
can I fully exploit these resource without creating too much
maintainance burden? I know NeXT cann't do it, but HP has a file
management system very close to be distributed: Logic groups and
Logic volumns. However, LG and LV can only manipulate disks
attached to the server, not yet any "conceptual" disk like NFS space.

I felt like you got almost all the basic elements for a
"Distribute NFS", but ... Do you really have anything like that?

I'd appreciate any further discussion.

<stuff deleted>

Isn't DFS part of the DCE product available?

I think that might be part of the solution you are looking for
