Hi!
This is Nagaraj Hegde from India. We are planning to BUY SUN
Cluster. We are
planning to buy 2 E250 with external storage packs. What we want to know

is
can both the machines access the files in stored in multipack at the
same time. (Just like
2 systems accessing nfs mounted file systems.)

Please reply back.

Thx & regards
Nagaraj Hegde

Havent done this, but I would imagine that accessing the same
filesystem from two different hosts would corrupt the filesystem. You'll
need to use NFS. Under HPUX clusters, the filesystem is only accessible
from one host at a time and moves from one host to the other upon
failover.

Cheers,
Mario

No, the standard Multipacks can only be accessible via one
machine and then NFS mounted to another machine. I double
checked with a colleague of mine to make sure, and we came to
the conclusion that the sharing of the same disk was about a
year to two years away with Sun and I believe DEC is going to

have it available just a bit sooner [rumor]. However, it is

definitely not going to be in the price range of the E250
area.
