Netscape Mail Server: Connection Lost by Peer

We are an ISP using Netscape Mail Server 1.1 running under a Netra i5 Solaris 2.5 machine.
We have noticed that the following error is occuring way TOO often:
* When a client is dowloading his mail via POP3, and the mail holds an attachement (sometimes as small as 10K), he gets the following error : "Connection Reset By Peer".

We've asked the customers to change their POP3 clients (they were using Netscape Navigator 2.0 to read their mail!!). Didn't work. We've tried Eudora, Microsoft Exchange client, Pegasus,... . No luck :-( Same problem..

If it's of any help, we are using Cisco 2511 access servers, with MultiTech MTZDX2834 modems, and the clients are accessing their e-mail via PPP accounts.

Please help...
