Hi,
We have recently setup a Linux smail mail server. It seemed like it
was working fine - then the mystery started. All users could send and
receive mail with no problem, however, we added some more users and
the NEW users could NOT receive mail (a "no such user" message was
bounced) but could send mail. The original users mail still works
fine. We restarted the smail daemon, but it did not help. Can anyone
give us some help here?

Thanks for your time,
Gary Whitten

Did you checked the new users mailfiles for the right permissions? Check your
/etc/passwd too. A good description of smail is found in the Linux Networking
Guide.
Or try just the sendmail-package, form the Slackware distribution it works
right out of the box.

you need to be sure that the mailboxes exist when you add a new user. I
had problems like this because smail will not create a mailbox when it
does not exist.
